Program Description
Join Cheryl Buckmaster as she opens up our understanding of how art and science can connect. She will take your class through a series of experiments and presentations around the theme of water while she opens up a space for us to share all of the ways that water interacts with our life. From here she will lead your class through a visual storying exercise that uses some rudimentary watercolour materials.

Artist Biography
Cheryl Buckmaster is a Saskatchewan artist educated at Emily Carr College of Art & Design, Vancouver BC. Social movements, human spirit, and wit infuse her 35-year figurative art practice. In 2017, Cheryl began collaboration with Indigenous partners and social scientists to create artwork that conveys information in a more accessible way than a conventional scientific paper. In 2024, Cheryl was USASK’s first transdisciplinary Master of Environment and Sustainability graduate to research and create an art exhibit instead of the traditionally required scientific thesis paper.Cheryl’s work sparks curiosity, hope, and the notion of individual and collective change.
