Artist Biography
Mackenzy Vida (she/her) is a queer, multidisciplinary artist from Treaty 4 Regina, SK. Leaning into expressive line work, she highlights hopeful moments of connection and vulnerability. Art therapy in early childhood ignited her passion for creativity and visual arts helped her find her voice. Countless hours in the studios at the University of Regina further enriched her artistic journey, focusing on drawing and printmaking. Vida tenaciously began to navigate work as an independent artist from 2021 and onwards—exploring her practice as an emerging Francophone artist on the prairies. Mackenzy has since expanded into large-scale murals.
Join Mackenzy as she unfolds the world of Zines (mini-magazines) and shows us how to use visual art in zines to express important truths.
