Program Description
Join our local SK truth teller, Miguel Fenrich, as he explores what it looks like be authentic in the stories we tell. Each of your students will put on their own journalist hat and learn how to spot and share the stories around them.

Artist Biography
Miguel Fenrich (he/him) is a Sudanese-Canadian storyteller, cultural worker, novelist, and poet living and working on Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatoon. As a Truthteller and Future Historian, his work examines joy, connection, and community care in relationship with land and space.
Fenrich is the author of Blue: A Novel and What Lies in the Valley. His career spans publishing, journalism, communications, and non-profit leadership across Saskatchewan, and he has served in leadership roles with numerous provincial written-word organizations, including SaskBooks, the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild Foundation and the University of Saskatchewan Senate.
He is the former owner and publisher of Supernova Press, is the Owner at House of Fenrich Consulting, and is the 43rd President of the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild. He is a recipient of the 2025 Tony & Herb Rainbow Award through the Saskatchewan Foundation for the Arts, a 2026 CBC Saskatchewan Future 40 Winner, a recognized Established Literary Artist and Arts Leader from SK Arts, and is working on his 3rd novel with support of SK Arts.
